Jazz Times: Jim Hall and My Grandma
My photos of Jazz Guitarist Jim Hall, Pianist Bill Charlap and Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra at Rose Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, were featured on Jazz Times and some other websites the other day. Jim Hall, I believe, almost 80 years old, sounded good and he reminded me of my grand mother in Japan… My grandma is going to be 94 yeas old in 2 weeks (! 14 years older than Jim Hall !), and loves singing and dancing. She is becoming healthier and stronger each year. Seriously. When I went back to Japan in winter 2 years ago, it was in the middle of terrible flu season and my whole family, starting from dad, then me, sister and my mom, got flu. In fact, the whole Japan was full of people who had flu. My grandma was the only one in the neighborhood who didn’t get flu. She was completely healthy. Oh I forgot I was talking about Jim Hall… Looking at somebody like Jim Hall and my grandma, I thought I should really learn from how they are enjoying their life.
