Savannah Music Festival 2013

今年のサバンナミュージックフェスティバルの様子をお届けします。このミュージックフェスティバルは、ロブ・ギブソンという、Jazz at Lincoln Center 創設の際にエグゼクティブディレクターだった方が作ったフェスティバルです。ロブは本当に色々な音楽を聴いていて、このミュージックフェスティバルに行くと、今まで知らなかった分野の音楽が好きになりますよ。ジャズだけじゃないんです。クラシック、ブルーグラス、ダンス、レゲエ、ソウル、ポップ、ブルース、ケイジャン、ラテン、などなど、色々な分野の音楽をカバーします。でも個人的には、やはり Jazz at Lincoln Center のディレクターがはじめたフェスティバルだけあって、ジャズが一番強いのかな、と思います。でも今まであまり聞いたことがなかったブルーグラスのバンド等も、このフェスティバルに出る人たちは本当に厳選されていて楽しめます。会場が数カ所あるので、カメラマンとしても毎回撮り方を工夫できて楽しめます。「写真を撮ってるとき、音楽は聴いているのか?」という質問をよくされます。正直、観客として聴いているときと比べると、写真を撮っているときはあまり聴いてません。。。ただ、音楽が良いと、自然と耳に入ってきて、こちらも刺激を受けてもっと良い写真を撮ろう、と思います。それでも良い写真が撮れるかどうかは、会場のライティングや、マイクや舞台の配置や、撮ることができる場所の角度などに左右されますが。今回ここに載せる写真は、音楽の質や好みには関係なく、3週間のフェスティバルで撮った写真の中から、ただ単に視覚的に私の一番気に入った写真を載せます。ですが!一応ジャズ好きなので、ジャズの写真からはじめたいと思います。音楽評論家でもなんでもないので批評はしません。

なんか今、”サバンナミュージックフェスティバル”とグーグルしてみたら、SMFのオフィシャルロゴ付きで、”サバンナミュージックフェスティバルはグルジア最大の音楽のアートイベント”って書いてあったんですけど、グルジア!?グルジアってあのトルコとかの近くの!?確かにGeorgiaって書きますけど、ジョージアですよ!ジョージア。アメリカのジョージア州サバンナ市です。日本の皆さん、サバンナミュージックフェスティバルを訪れようと間違ってグルジアまで行かないでくださいね!
